ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Leyenda del Dorado Aruba will bring a three-stage international mountain bike race to the island from October 9 through 11, 2026.
The inaugural Aruba edition is designed for professional and amateur cyclists. Riders will leave the familiar beach scenery behind and race across dry, exposed and technical terrain shaped by wind, heat and rock.
The event is part of the La Leyenda Island Series. Organizers describe it as a challenging off-road experience that combines competitive mountain biking with Aruba’s natural landscapes and growing cycling community.
Leyenda del Dorado Aruba Brings Three Days of Racing
The race will unfold over three stages. Routes are expected to cross arid desert, rugged volcanic landscapes, red-dirt trails and sections of Caribbean coastline.
According to the official event information, the course also reaches into Arikok National Park, where volcanic rock, technical trails and strong winds will test riders’ endurance and bike-handling skills.
The event has 150 available places and individual categories. Route data, chip timing, aid stations, medical support and mechanical assistance during the race are included for registered participants.
Mountain Biking Beyond Aruba’s Beaches
Leyenda del Dorado Aruba is intended to show another side of the island. The race highlights Aruba as an outdoor and wellness destination while giving local and international cyclists a structured way to experience its demanding off-road trails.
Friends, relatives and spectators who are not racing are also invited to support participants and experience Aruba’s mountain biking community. The event schedule is designed so riders can compete during the day and spend time with family and friends afterward.
The race is supported by the Aruba Tourism Authority. Aruba’s official tourism calendar confirms the October 9–11 dates and describes the event as the island’s first three-day mountain bike edition.
