HOH Academy training is supporting 37 Horacio Oduber Hospital employees as they pursue specialized healthcare education in Aruba.
According to English-language reporting by 24ora, the group has been participating in programs coordinated by HOH Academy with local and Dutch education partners since June 2026.
Acute-care education expands in Aruba
HOH Academy introduced specialized nursing programs for intensive care and the emergency department in September 2025. A Basic Acute Care program was added in September 2026, marking the first time that course has been offered in Aruba through the academy.
The Basic Acute Care program is being delivered with the University of Aruba and Leiden University Medical Center. It gives healthcare professionals a foundation in acute care before they move into further specialized training.
Keeping the program in Aruba allows employees to combine study with their hospital work and remain connected to their workplace instead of travelling overseas for the initial stage of specialization.
Programs cover several healthcare specialties
The current education opportunities extend beyond acute-care nursing. HOH Academy is coordinating programs in clinical neurophysiology, cytology, physician-assistant studies and central sterile services with partner institutions in the Netherlands.
Additional specialized nursing programs cover diabetes care, obstetrics, pediatrics, dialysis and medical interventional cardiology. The partners named in the report include LOI, HAN, Summa College, Antonius Academie and Amstel Academie.
HOH said the programs support continuous learning and professional development while strengthening the range of healthcare expertise available on the island. The hospital also congratulated the 37 employees for taking the next step in their careers.
