The fatal police shooting at Pos Abao has deeply impacted the Aruba community, with the Police Commissioner urging calm and patience as investigations continue. Altocomisario Ramon Arnhem addressed the public, expressing sorrow and emphasizing the need for peace during this difficult time.

“Yesterday, a tragic incident occurred at Pos Abao, resulting in the death of an individual following a police shooting. This is a difficult situation affecting both parties involved,” Arnhem stated.

The Altocomisario acknowledged the pain felt by the family and community, adding that losing a loved one suddenly is inexplicable and painful. He reassured the public that the Landsrecherche team, under the Ministry of Public Prosecution’s leadership, is conducting a thorough investigation to ensure clarity on the events.

Arnhem also conveyed his condolences, not only to the family of the deceased but also to the officers involved. “This is not easy for any of us,” he said. “We will ensure full transparency so that all parties involved can find clarity.”

The investigation is ongoing, and Arnhem urges the community to maintain calm, as the truth will come to light through the official channels. “I urge everyone to allow the investigation to run its course,” he concluded.
