ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Rotation 51 of the Royal Netherlands Army officially handed over its duties to Rotation 52 during a military ceremony held in Curaçao on July 13, 2026.
During the traditional change-of-command ceremony, Captain Luc assumed command from Captain Marnix. The new unit will train and conduct operations throughout the Caribbean region over the next six months.
Captain Marnix reflected on an intensive deployment that included military exercises in Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire and the United States. The squadron focused on physical and mental readiness, leadership development and operational training while working alongside Caribbean military personnel and other regional defense units.
Rotation 52, made up of the Delta/Ratel Squadron of the 44th Armoured Infantry Battalion, will continue training across Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao while supporting missions assigned by the Commander of the Naval Forces in the Caribbean (CZMCARIB).
