Dutch and US Marines Join Forces for Tactical Dive Training in Aruba

Dutch and United States marines are currently collaborating in Aruba for Caribbean Coastal Warrior 2025, a month-long tactical dive training exercise aimed at strengthening international military cooperation. The exercise, which concludes on June 9, features advanced dive operations off Zeewijk Beach, with the recognizable oil storage tanks and Marine Corps Base Savaneta as the backdrop.

This year’s training emphasizes rebreather diving techniques, conducted by specialized dive teams from the Second Reconnaissance Battalion of the U.S. Second Marine Division, working closely with the Dutch Marine Squadron Carib.

Caribbean Coastal Warrior is part of a recurring exchange program between Dutch and U.S. naval forces, rotating annually between training sites in the Caribbean and the United States. Earlier this year in April, Dutch marines from Aruba, St. Maarten, and Curaçao participated in Caribbean Urban Warrior at Camp Lejeune, a major U.S. Marine Corps base in North Carolina.

These joint missions are designed to enhance interoperability, foster teamwork, and build mutual expertise across both forces through real-world scenarios and shared tactical knowledge. The exercises reinforce the strong partnership between the Netherlands and the United States in maintaining regional security and operational readiness.
