A Dominicanessenstraat accident in Oranjestad, Aruba occurred last night when a woman was struck by a vehicle after crossing the street in an irregular manner. The incident also involved the driver attempting to flee the scene, as captured in the video footage of the accident.

According to local reports, the woman crossed Dominicanessenstraat in a way that was not typical for pedestrians, leading to the collision. The driver of the vehicle, after striking the woman, was seen trying to drive away from the scene in an attempt to escape. The driver’s actions were caught on video, which has now circulated on social media platforms.

Witnesses at the scene reported that the woman, despite being hit by the vehicle, was able to get up and move to the side of the road, although visibly shaken. Emergency services were called immediately to provide medical assistance to the woman. Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the accident and transported the victim to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The video of the incident shows the vehicle coming to a halt after hitting the woman, before the driver attempted to leave the area. However, due to the quick response of nearby witnesses, the situation was quickly reported to authorities. Police arrived at the scene shortly afterward to investigate the accident and take statements from witnesses.

The Dominicanessenstraat accident serves as a reminder of the importance of pedestrian safety and the consequences of driving recklessly. Police are currently searching for the driver involved in the hit-and-run accident and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual responsible.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the driver or the incident to come forward and contact local law enforcement.

The incident highlights the ongoing efforts by Aruba’s police and emergency services to improve road safety and hold drivers accountable for their actions on the road. It also calls attention to the need for drivers and pedestrians to be vigilant when navigating busy streets, especially in areas like Dominicanessenstraat, where traffic is heavy.

As investigations continue, police are looking into the circumstances that led to the accident and the driver’s motives for fleeing the scene.
