ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Copa Noord 2026 softball tournament will conclude on Sunday, July 5, as Royal Power, Calabas Blue Jays, Kudawecha Redskins and Yoyo’s Power compete for the championship title.
This year’s tournament, organized by Calabas Blue Jays, is dedicated to five community figures: Lea Tromp, Maria Boekhoudt, Aldrin Boekhoudt, Julieta “Jeta” de Cuba and Lenin Ashby.
Copa Noord has a long tradition in Aruba. The competition officially began in 1979 after its origins in 1977 and has become one of the island’s most recognized neighborhood softball tournaments. Following interruptions in the 1990s and during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event returned in 2025 and continues to celebrate Aruba’s sporting heritage.
Royal Power enters the tournament as one of the most successful clubs in Copa Noord history with eight championship titles, while Calabas Blue Jays is seeking its sixth title.
Fans are invited to enjoy the semifinal games before Sunday’s championship match at Calabas Blue Jays Ballpark, where women’s and commercial league finals will also be played.
