ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AAN) — Clifford Rosa represents Fundacion Rancho Netherlands on January 28, as part of an international initiative to launch a new cultural heritage project aimed at supporting the Aruban community.

During a press conference, Rosa provided updates on the foundation’s plans for the year, announcing that the trip to the Netherlands will help initiate a project focused on facilitating funding opportunities that allow communities to continue practicing and preserving intangible cultural heritage.

“This is something new that we will share with several institutions in the Netherlands,” Rosa said, noting that Stichting Rancho will represent Aruba and the Caribbean islands in this initiative.

Rosa described the project as an important step toward giving new life to Fundacion Rancho’s cultural activities and expanding its vision. “This allows us to think differently about how we activate and preserve our cultural heritage in Aruba,” he explained.

He expressed appreciation to the Cultural Fund, as well as the Dutch embassies, government bodies, and other collaborating institutions for their support in launching the new project.

Rosa also announced several upcoming events, including a World War II commemoration on February 16 and a major cultural event planned for March 18, which the foundation intends to develop into a larger celebration than in previous years.

As part of the March 18 activities, Fundacion Rancho plans to honor Lee de Windt, a respected figure known for his long-standing contribution to the tradition of miniature boat craftsmanship. De Windt’s work and experience will be highlighted to emphasize the importance of passing this knowledge on to future generations.

Rosa added that the Miniature Boat Association will also be reactivated to oversee the preservation, education, and continuation of this important cultural tradition in Aruba.
