Celebrity chef Christian Petroni, winner of Food Network Star and author of the New York Times bestselling cookbook Parm to Table, recently visited Aruba to take part in Autentico, the island’s premier culinary festival.
Known for his bold Italian-American flavors and Bronx roots, Petroni found inspiration in Aruba’s melting pot of cultures. The festival showcased the island’s rich diversity through food, featuring more than 100 nationalities represented across local restaurants and international chef collaborations.
During the week-long celebration, Petroni teamed up with local baker Zaida Everon from T2Pan to create a unique fusion dish—a semolina breadstick wrapped in aged prosciutto and butter made from grass-fed cows, symbolizing the perfect blend of Italian craftsmanship and Aruban authenticity.
The festival culminated in The Pavilion, a two-day grand finale in Oranjestad, featuring local eateries, beverage partners, and international chefs, including Tim Golsteijn from Amsterdam and Jaime Pestaque from Lima. Petroni also hosted a beachside dinner at The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba, highlighting the island’s culinary excellence under the Caribbean sunset.
Petroni praised Aruba as a destination that combines flavor, hospitality, and culture, describing it as “a melting pot that reminds me of the Bronx, full of great people and inspiring stories
