Casago Aruba Launches Full-Tuition Scholarship for Local Students in Tourism and Hospitality

Casago Aruba, a vacation rental company dedicated to enriching Aruba’s tourism sector, has launched the Casago Aruba FHTMS Scholarship in partnership with the University of Aruba (UA). This full-tuition scholarship is designed to empower young Arubans pursuing careers in hospitality, tourism, and tech, providing an invaluable opportunity to receive education at one of the island’s premier institutions.

More Than a Brand: A Commitment to Aruba’s People

During the brand launch event at Palm Beach, Gerald Sarmiento, Co-owner of Casago Aruba, emphasized that Casago is not just a vacation rental business—it’s a promise to the island. Casago pledges to deliver exceptional service to its guests, maintain reliable partnerships with property owners, and offer genuine opportunities for its staff and the local community.

The FHTMS Scholarship is a direct reflection of this commitment, emphasizing that investing in Aruba’s future talent is as important as investing in property.

What the Scholarship Covers

This scholarship provides full tuition for four years at the University of Aruba’s Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies (FHTMS), ensuring that talented Aruban students can pursue their academic dreams without the financial burden.

Key Details:

  • Full four-year tuition

  • Available to students accepted into the FHTMS program

  • Open to all students island-wide who meet eligibility criteria

  • Application deadline: July 15, 2025

  • Submit applications to: fleur.vanbohemen@ua.aw

Inspiring the Next Generation of Tourism Leaders

On July 3rd, 2025, Casago Aruba representatives visited the EPI School of Hospitality and Tourism to introduce the scholarship and encourage students to apply. This outreach reflects Casago’s ongoing efforts to create meaningful opportunities and shape the future of the hospitality sector in Aruba.

As Sarmiento puts it, “We’re not just building a business; we’re helping build a better island.”

Why This Matters for Aruba’s Tourism Industry

As Aruba’s tourism industry continues to expand, the need for well-educated, passionate, and locally rooted professionals grows. The Casago Aruba FHTMS Scholarship bridges the gap between education and employment, ensuring that Aruba’s future leaders are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the hospitality field.

This initiative helps students:

  • Overcome financial barriers to higher education

  • Gain industry insights and real-world knowledge

  • Build careers that contribute to Aruba’s reputation as a world-class tourist destination

How to Apply for the FHTMS Scholarship

Students interested in applying must meet the eligibility requirements and be accepted into the FHTMS program at the University of Aruba.

To apply:

  1. Review application guidelines at the University of Aruba

  2. Submit the required documents by July 15, 2025

  3. Email the complete application to fleur.vanbohemen@ua.aw

For more information, contact the University of Aruba.

Final Thoughts: A Future Fueled by Education

The Casago Aruba FHTMS Scholarship isn’t just a financial award; it’s an invitation for local youth to pursue their dreams. By investing in education and supporting youth talent, Casago Aruba is not only empowering individuals but also strengthening the island’s vital tourism industry, ensuring a bright and resilient future.
