ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Young author Anthony Carvajal Rivera, a student at Ibero American High School, presented his first internationally published book, My Brilliant Splendor, to Aruba Prime Minister Mike Eman during a special meeting recognizing his literary achievement.
Published with the support of Europe Editions in Madrid, the book marks an important milestone in Anthony’s writing journey. He explained that he chose to present his work to the Prime Minister because he believed the Ministry responsible for Culture was the appropriate place to share his accomplishment and highlight the talent being developed in Aruba.
Prime Minister Mike Eman congratulated Anthony on his success at such a young age, describing his achievement as an inspiration for other young people. He praised the dedication, creativity, and perseverance that led to the publication of the book and encouraged Anthony to continue developing his literary career.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Anthony has lived in Aruba and attends Ibero American High School. He said his passion for writing began by recording poems and personal reflections in a notebook before eventually turning them into a published work. The publication process took about a year and taught him valuable lessons about both writing and the publishing industry.
Anthony said the book explores the idea of first love in a broader sense, explaining that a person’s first love can be another individual, a hobby, an art form, or a future profession. He encouraged other young people to pursue their passions without fear and continue developing their talents.
The meeting concluded with Anthony describing the experience as both positive and inspiring, while expressing his gratitude for the recognition of his work.
