Parliamentarian Evelyn Wever-Croes, leader of the MEP fraction, has criticized the government for lacking a concrete plan to address the odor issues at the Bubaliplas wastewater treatment plant. Following a recent parliamentary debate, Wever-Croes stated that the government failed to answer critical questions regarding the timeline and financing of a proposed pipeline to Parkietenbos. She argued that moving waste to another location is not a sustainable solution. The MEP fraction submitted a motion requiring the government to present a definitive plan within six weeks, but it was voted down by the AVP and Futuro factions. Wever-Croes emphasized that her party will continue to pressure the administration to resolve the environmental and health concerns affecting the community.
