Aruba’s Executive Body of AZV (OE AZV) has officially unveiled a special commemorative logo to mark 25 years of the island’s universal health insurance system, AZV. The logo will be used throughout 2026 as part of a year-long celebration recognizing the impact and evolution of the national healthcare scheme.
The unveiling ceremony brought together healthcare partners from Aruba and Colombia, members of the OE AZV family, Prime Minister Mike Eman, Minister of Public Health Mervin Wyatt-Ras, and AZV Director Edwin Jacobs.
AZV was introduced on January 1, 2001, providing universal healthcare coverage to Aruba’s population. As the program enters its 25th year, the Executive Body emphasized that the milestone will not pass unnoticed, highlighting AZV’s central role in ensuring accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for all residents.
The evening began with a presentation outlining the three core objectives behind the creation of AZV. The AZV Director noted that, thanks to strong collaboration across the healthcare sector, Aruba has come very close to achieving these goals. However, he also stressed that continuous evaluation and adaptation remain essential to address ongoing and future challenges within the healthcare system.
The commemorative logo will be used exclusively throughout 2026, alongside a series of activities and initiatives planned to honor AZV’s 25-year contribution to Aruba’s social and healthcare development.
