As part of the regular institutional meetings with the Governor of Aruba, AVP parliamentary leader Jennifer Arends-Reyes held an official audience last Friday with Governor Alfonso Boekhoudt. The meeting served as an opportunity for an open exchange of ideas and information on several matters of national importance.
During the audience, discussions focused on current political developments, the constitutional responsibilities of Parliament, and the importance of continued cooperation between Aruba’s institutions to ensure political stability, good governance, and the overall well-being of the Aruban people.
Arends-Reyes emphasized that regular audiences with the Governor are a vital component of Aruba’s democratic system. According to her, these meetings promote transparency, constructive dialogue, and mutual respect among the different branches of government, while strengthening Parliament’s role in safeguarding the public interest and upholding the rule of law.
“As an elected representative of the people and leader of the AVP parliamentary faction, it is essential for me to maintain open and respectful communication with the Governor, always in the best interest of our country and its citizens,” Arends-Reyes stated.
She reaffirmed her commitment to carrying out her parliamentary duties with responsibility, integrity, and a constructive approach, consistently placing the interests of Aruba and its citizens first.
