The Aruba subsistence minimum for a household with two adults and two children reached Afl. 5,663 per month in August 2026, according to figures reported from the Central Bureau of Statistics.
Monthly benchmark rises Afl. 144
The August figure was Afl. 144 higher than the Afl. 5,519 calculated for August 2025. The largest contributors were increases of Afl. 86 for food and non-alcoholic beverages and Afl. 35 for transport.
Clothing and footwear recorded the largest decline, lowering the benchmark by Afl. 5.
Single-adult household faces reported gap
For a household consisting of one adult, the monthly subsistence minimum was Afl. 2,697. The report calculated an income deficit of Afl. 690, which was Afl. 48 larger than a year earlier.
The benchmark is based on the cost of essential goods and services and is updated monthly using the consumer price index. Equivalence weights adjust the calculation for households of different sizes and compositions.
