ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AAN) — Organizers of the Aruba Soca Monarch Festival beach chair rules have clarified that only foldable beach chairs will be allowed inside the venue during the 2026 edition of the festival, scheduled for Friday, January 31.
Edwina Werleman of Stichting Musica explained that chairs have never been prohibited at the event, but regulations must be followed to ensure public safety. These guidelines are based on requirements from the Fire Department and the Aruba Police Force (KPA) and focus primarily on crowd safety and emergency access.
According to Werleman, metal chairs, wooden chairs, living-room chairs, and patio furniture are not permitted. Only lightweight, foldable beach chairs are allowed, as they are easier to manage and pose fewer risks in crowded areas.
Visitors bringing beach chairs will be directed to a designated seating area approved within the event’s logistical plan. This area allows attendees to sit comfortably while maintaining clear walkways and sightlines, without disturbing other festival-goers.
The approved seating zone has been inspected and authorized by both KPA and the Fire Department, and the same rules will apply consistently across Stichting Musica’s events.
Organizers emphasize that these measures are in place solely to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone attending the Aruba Soca Monarch Festival.
