ORANJESTAD – Aruba’s Parliamentarian Shailiny Tromp-Lee proudly represented the MEP party during her recent official visit to Curaçao on July 1–2, 2025, to join the vibrant and emotional celebrations of Emancipation Day and Flag Day.

On July 1st, Tromp-Lee attended the flag-lowering ceremony at Plaza Brion, followed by a symbolic march to Fort Amsterdam, where the Emancipation Day ceremony honored the struggles and triumphs of those who fought for freedom. The evening was highlighted by a powerful cultural performance celebrating tambú music and Curaçao’s rich history.

The next morning, July 2nd, she participated in the official Flag Day parliamentary session—a morning filled with love for Curaçao’s culture, history, and national pride. Outstanding citizens were recognized for their service, including Tromp-Lee’s own father, Ramon Lee, whose contributions were warmly applauded.
