ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Aruba ROPV Extension and New Version process has officially begun with the Ministry of Infrastructure’s announcement of preparations for a new decree to extend the validity of the current ROPV (Land Use Plan), while simultaneously preparing a revised and new ROPV. These steps are part of the National Infrastructure Plan as outlined in the AVP-Futuro government plan, driven by the need to manage the transition between the current ROPV and a new version.

According to the announcement, the decree for the extension will prolong the validity of the current ROPV for the necessary period while a new version is developed based on realistic planning. Minister Herde explained that the renewal process will take some time and will involve various government departments, private organizations, non-governmental organizations, and key private sector partners.

The decree will formally declare that the Aruba ROPV Extension and New Version is under preparation. This decree may also include conditions and regulations that must be adhered to until the new ROPV is ready for implementation. It has been indicated that the preparation of the decree will take a fixed period, ensuring that the revised and new ROPV will follow the preparation and consultation process.
