The reported Machado flight has prompted questions about whether Aruba denied landing permission to a private aircraft said to involve Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado.
MEP submits 17 questions
MEP parliamentary leader Evelyn Wever-Croes sent 17 questions to Prime Minister Mike Eman. She asked whether Aruba received an official landing request, when it arrived, which authority handled it and how many people were expected aboard.
The questions also seek the legal or operational basis for any refusal and ask whether Machado’s reported presence affected the decision.
Questions cover foreign contacts and oversight
Wever-Croes asked whether Aruba consulted the Netherlands, the United States or Venezuela, or faced political or diplomatic pressure. She also requested relevant documents where disclosure is permitted by law.
The parliamentary questions do not establish that Aruba rejected the flight. They seek confirmation or denial of the reports and identify who made any decision. MEP requested answers by October 19, 2026.
