On Saturday night, Aruba police carried out a large-scale Aruba police traffic control Playa operation at several strategic locations in downtown Oranjestad.
During the operation, officers checked more than 200 vehicles and issued a total of 86 fines. Of these, 66 fines were for speeding. The remaining citations were related to other traffic violations, including missing license plates, expired inspections, lack of insurance, and failure to wear seatbelts.

Police also made two arrests during the traffic control. One driver was detained for driving under the influence, while another individual was arrested for being undocumented on the island.
The Police Force of Aruba stated that Aruba police traffic control Playa operations will continue and reminded motorists to keep vehicle documents in order, wear seatbelts, avoid using mobile phones while driving, respect speed limits, and never drive under the influence of alcohol.
