Aruba's influenza vaccination bus will visit four areas from October 20 to 23, with free shots for eligible residents and options for others.
Four Morning Stops Planned
Aruba's Department of Public Health, working with the Crisis Management Office, will send an influenza vaccination bus to four locations from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The schedule lists IMSAN on October 20, Centro di Bario Playa Pabao on October 21, Centro Deportivo Santa Cruz on October 22 and Stadion Frans Figaroa on October 23.
Higher-Risk Groups Are Encouraged to Attend
The Aruba influenza vaccination bus is intended to improve access for people at higher risk of serious complications. DVG recommends vaccination for residents aged 60 and older, adults and children with qualifying medical risks, pregnant women who meet medical criteria, healthcare workers in direct contact with vulnerable patients and residents who are confined to bed.
Eligibility and Purchase Rules Differ
Residents aged 60 or older can receive the vaccine free with an AZV card. Those under 60 in a medical-risk group need an AZV card and a doctor's prescription. Others can buy the vaccine for Afl. 20 from DVG's infectious-disease section during afternoon hours, but purchases will not be available on the neighborhood bus. Bedbound residents may contact DVG for an appointment.
