Medical specialists at Horacio Oduber Hospital set an Aruba hospital funding deadline, asking the government, AZV and the hospital foundation to act within seven days.
Doctors seek restored care capacity
In a September 4 letter, ASHA and VMSA asked the government and AZV to provide temporary funding to end reductions in care while reviews continue. They also asked Stichting Ziekenverpleging Aruba to restore regular capacity and requested a fixed November date for a structural decision.
Patient-safety report is possible
The deadline falls on September 11. The associations said they may report the situation to Aruba’s health inspectorate if no decision is taken. AZV has commissioned reviews of dialysis care, organizational efficiency and the hospital’s requested lump-sum increase. The specialists said patients should not be left waiting.
