The government says the Aruba 2027 budget has been delivered to Parliament on time and projects a country-level surplus of Afl. 84.1 million.
Finance Minister Geoffrey Wever said the proposal complies with legal requirements and received a positive assessment from the Board of Financial Supervision, CAft. The collective sector is projected to record a surplus of more than Afl. 203 million.
Growth and debt projections
The budget assumes nominal economic growth of 4.1 percent and gross domestic product of roughly Afl. 8.4 billion. Government debt is projected to decline from 59 percent to 54 percent of GDP.
Those figures are forecasts contained in the government’s plan and may change as economic conditions develop. The Aruba 2027 budget also identifies funding priorities including pensions, purchasing power, business support and economic diversification.
