APG Celebrates 85 Years of Scouting : Het Arubaanse Padvindsters Gilde (APG) invites the community to celebrate its 85th anniversary on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The festivities will commence with a Holy Mass at 2:00 PM at Misa di Brazil, followed by a march to the Centro di Bario Brazil at 3:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend and support the members’ positive community activities. The day will conclude with a private celebration for organization members.
Founded on June 12, 1941, by a group of women inspired by the Netherlands’ Scouting anniversary, the organization began its first group in 1942 and formally joined the Curaçao region in 1946. After a period of decline, the movement experienced a revival in 1986, adopting its current name and constitution. In 2017, APG obtained full membership in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).
APG serves as a national movement divided into age-specific groups, ranging from Beyisima (ages 4–7) to Lider (ages 21+). The organization’s mission focuses on empowering girls and women to develop their full potential and become exemplary citizens through leadership, social responsibility, and community service. Its vision is for every girl and woman to be valued and take the courage to change the world.
