ORANJESTAD (AAN): Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs, and Primary Sector mr. Geoffrey Wever has received the 2025 annual report from the Aruba Fair Trade Authority (AFTA), confirming the ongoing commitment to transparency, good governance, and consolidation of a modern, fair market for Aruba.

Since its establishment on January 1, 2024, AFTA has become an important pillar in creating an economic environment where businesses compete fairly and consumers benefit from better services, innovation, and competitive prices.

AFTA Annual Report Aruba: Second Year Progress

The 2025 report presents progress achieved during AFTA’s second operational year, including institutional strengthening, investigation processes, business guidance, and preparation for the next phase of consumer protection.

Consumer protection remains a strategic priority for Minister Wever. The Government continues cooperating with AFTA on legal and regulatory instruments to strengthen consumers’ market position, ensuring citizens have more security, information, and protection against unfair commercial practices.

Market Confidence Through AFTA Annual Report Aruba

“An orderly and reliable market is essential for attracting investment, stimulating entrepreneurship, and expanding opportunities for local businesses,” Minister Wever commented. “When investors see that Aruba has independent institutions, transparency, and legal certainty, they have more confidence to invest. This translates into employment, economic growth, and well-being for our community.”

The delivery of the 2025 annual report confirms Aruba is advancing with concrete actions in building a more competitive, modern, and resilient economy, in line with the AVP-FUTURO 2025-2028 Governance Program.
