Four dogs have been found abandoned near Arashi within a matter of days, according to the Aruba Animal Welfare Alliance. The discoveries involved an adult female dog and three puppies left in a box.
An AWAA member first encountered the female dog near Arashi last week. The animal appeared to be in good physical condition. Later, the same member found three puppies in a box in the area. It was not immediately clear whether the adult dog was their mother.
Abandonment creates immediate risks
Dogs left near roads or exposed coastal areas face traffic, heat, dehydration and limited access to food. Puppies are especially vulnerable because they cannot safely fend for themselves.
AWAA used the case to remind owners that abandoning animals is dangerous and that help should be requested before a situation reaches that point. The group also emphasized sterilization as an important way to reduce unwanted litters and the continuing pressure on Aruba’s animal-rescue network.
