Minister of Justice, Mr. Drs. Arthur Dowers, recently met with Ms. Claire Brown, founder of the foundation Tur Cos Ta Posibel (TCTP), to discuss their collaborative efforts at the Correctional Institution of Aruba (KIA).

This meeting took place within the context of international cooperation, particularly involving the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, which provides funding for innovative youth-focused projects in KIA.

Founded in 2019, TCTP is a small but dedicated organization focused on the holistic development of young people. The foundation operates in the fields of sports, arts, culture, and social inclusion, with a mission to empower both youth and local organizations to reach their full potential.

Currently, TCTP is active within KIA, running various European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteer projects—both long-term and short-term. One such initiative is BAM (Barbering, Art & Mechanics), a three-week program aimed at inspiring male inmates between ages 21 and 30 through recreational and vocational activities.

During the meeting, the parties discussed future programs aligned with the AVP-Futuro cabinet’s vision, including the possibility of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). They also explored TCTP’s potential role outside the prison, serving vulnerable youth in the broader community.

Minister Dowers expressed deep appreciation for TCTP’s contribution to motivating and transforming the lives of detained young men. The Ministry of Justice is committed to forming strategic partnerships with organizations like TCTP that promote second chances, alternative education, and true reintegration into society.
