Aruba integrity summit delegates are joining representatives from five other Dutch Caribbean islands in Sint Maarten for the fourth Integrity Summit Dutch Caribbean, NoticiaCla reports.
Six islands share oversight experience
The conference in Maho continues through Friday, November 6. According to the report, 23 organisations are taking part to exchange experience on transparency, oversight and integrity in the public sector.
Its theme is Building Stronger Organisations. Discussions focus on rules, procedures and internal controls intended to prevent abuse and support sound governance.
Leadership and regional cooperation
NoticiaCla reported contributions at the opening from Sint Maarten Prime Minister Luc Mercelina, Governor Ajamu Baly and Integrity Chamber president Rik Bergman. Keynote speaker Anande Tropman-Joseph emphasised leadership and continuing knowledge exchange.
The conference has support from the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The account describes cooperation and discussion, not the adoption of a new law.
