Bertha Wolff-Croes has fulfilled a long-held ambition by releasing an album of her own Papiamento compositions at the age of 75, according to 24ora’s October 31 report.
A collection spanning several musical styles
The album, presented as No laga bo bida pasa bay, contains eight tracks on disc and ten songs on USB. The collection includes ranchera, ballad, bolero, gospel, traditional waltz and tumba.
Wolff-Croes wrote the compositions, while her brother Jacinto, known as Chinto Croes, helped with melodies and arrangements. Diego Henriquez of DH Music Factory, Fio Wever and Rubin Ponson also contributed to the project, the report says.
More compositions are already under way
Among the songs are Adorable Señora and Consuelo di mi mama, both dedicated to Mother’s Day. Wolff-Croes said music has been a passion since childhood and that she is continuing to write, particularly gospel music.
The report describes an original musical release and the composer’s work; it does not announce a concert date.
