The Aruba vacation rental registration window is scheduled to open at noon on November 1, 2026, and run through January 31, 2027, NoticiaCla reported. Owners and operators will be able to register short-term accommodation through vacationrentalregistry.com.
Voluntary registration is not a permit
According to the report, registration during this phase is voluntary and non-participation does not carry a fine. Registering a property does not automatically legalize it or grant a permit: each accommodation must be assessed individually. A mandatory registration system is still being prepared.
Existing operations may be assessed for temporary treatment
The government is encouraging registration so qualifying accommodations operating before November 1 can be considered under a temporary tolerance framework, subject to applicable conditions. Projects not yet operating may also be assessed if significant investment or contractual commitments predating November 1 can be demonstrated. The report does not promise that every registered property will qualify.
