Parliamentarian Eduard Pieters of the Partido Patriotico Arubano (PPA) has dismissed speculation about the possible return of politician Mike de Meza to the party, saying no official decision has been taken on the matter.
Addressing recent statements, Pieters referred to the rumors and speculation circulating in the community and the press about de Meza’s position. He noted that while de Meza himself has said on various occasions that his political options always remain open, no formal step has been decided.
“Right now there is no change in anything,” Pieters emphasized, adding that the PPA has maintained a firm position of support for its leaders and its internal party processes. He recalled that de Meza’s political career began precisely within the PPA, which is why many people conclude he could return to his “house of origin” — although that is not the reality at this moment.
A party open to all who want to build the country
Pieters stressed that the party’s doors are open to everyone who wants to work, help Aruba, help the Partido Patriotico Arubano, and defend the homeland and “this piece of rock” — they are welcome.
According to the PPA representative, this philosophy applies not only to well-known political figures but to the entire population. He pointed to the party’s long historic trajectory and a legacy focused on the country’s development.
Progress with the Centro Patriotico in San Nicolas
Apart from the electoral-political topic, Pieters gave an update on the work the PPA is carrying out in San Nicolas with the Centro Patriotico. The center — which had stood in ruins for more than 20 years — is gradually being renovated to serve as a meeting and information point for the entire island.
The main goal of the center is to provide information to the people and supporters from all of Aruba, not just San Nicolas. It will also serve as a place where the public can get to know the party’s leadership and candidates up close. For the PPA, the renovation of the building is a symbol of its commitment to rebuilding Aruba.
Pieters concluded by emphasizing that the PPA continues to work firmly after having received the necessary support in the last elections to be represented in Parliament, and that the party will continue its growth and work for the country’s future.
