The Cuerpo Policial Aruba (KPA) has launched its national awareness campaign against driving under the influence of alcohol, with a simple message: “Busca bo amigo responsabel” — find your responsible friend.
The campaign puts the spotlight once again on drunk driving and its consequences. In short: find your #BAR — a responsible driver who has not consumed alcohol or any other substance, your responsible friend who can drive a motor vehicle so that everyone reaches their destination safely.
Police stress that their traffic controls will continue. Driving under the influence has consequences, they warn: you yourself may never make it home — or an innocent person may never make it home, or could be left in a life-critical situation.
Preventing this, police say, remains a serious responsibility of every citizen.
With the year-end period approaching once again, police warn that controls will become even stricter than they already are, and they are calling on the community to be responsible in their actions.
