Accion den Bario spending is among the issues MEP parliamentarian Shailiny Tromp-Lee has asked Prime Minister Mike Eman to explain about the weekly neighbourhood initiative.
Questions focus on selection and equal access
The initiative has involved government staff and vehicles from services including DOW, Serlimar and the Bureau City Inspector in cleaning, waste collection and painting work in neighbourhoods and at private homes.
Tromp-Lee asked what objective criteria determine the locations included, who authorizes the work and how residents with similar needs can request the same services.
Costs and separation of roles queried
Her questions seek staffing hours, overtime, fuel, rentals, materials and the budget lines used. She also asked which procurement rules apply and how decisions, work orders and expenses are documented.
Tromp-Lee further requested safeguards separating government activity from party-political promotion when elected officials take part. The questions seek information and do not by themselves establish misuse of public resources.
