A free Aruba frontotemporal disorders lecture will be held at the San Nicolas National Library during World FTD Awareness Week 2026, according to EA News Aruba.
Free session scheduled for September 30
The public event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free, and the organizers are inviting relatives, caregivers, healthcare professionals and other interested community members.
The session will take place at Biblioteca Nacional San Nicolas. Its stated purpose is to raise awareness of frontotemporal disorders, neurodegenerative conditions that affect the brain’s frontal and temporal lobes.
Speakers will address symptoms and support
Dr. Jayburtt Dijkhoff, representing Aruba Patients (PDA), and Drs. Melva Croes-Yánez, representing the Alzheimer Aruba Foundation (F.A.A.), are listed as the evening’s speakers.
The program is expected to address symptoms, the effects of frontotemporal disorders on patients and their families, and support resources available within Aruba’s community.
Awareness week brings information to San Nicolas
The lecture forms part of World FTD Awareness Week 2026. The Alzheimer Aruba Foundation and Aruba Patients are encouraging the public to use the session to learn more about the conditions and the experiences of people who live with them.
