The Canela Amsterdam bakery, founded by Arubans Andrea Aguirre Giol and Roberto Velazquez, has opened a second location in the Dutch capital.
Second Canela location opens in De Pijp
The new shop is in De Pijp, one of Amsterdam’s busiest neighbourhoods. It follows the opening of Canela Cinnamon Rolls on Molsteeg last year.
Aguirre Giol said the couple continued investing in the brand after the first location opened and sees strong potential for the second shop.
Expanded menu adds cheesecakes
The De Pijp location expands Canela’s menu with cheesecakes alongside its cinnamon rolls. Aguirre Giol said she began specializing in cheesecakes more than five years ago and previously sold them in Aruba.
The founders said Aruba remains part of their identity as they grow the business in the Netherlands. Both Amsterdam shops operate from Tuesday through Sunday.
