ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Aruba’s government and Aruba Birdlife Conservation have held an initial meeting to begin talks connected to the postponed court case over nature protection and tourism activity.
Initial meeting seeks common ground
According to EA News, Infrastructure Minister Rene Herde met with Aruba Birdlife Conservation on Friday afternoon. The two sides agreed to meet outside government buildings and opened a dialogue aimed at identifying shared ground.
The Aruba Birdlife Conservation dialogue follows the court’s decision to postpone the related case while the parties pursue a practical solution.
Nature protection and recreation remain central
The government said any solution should protect Aruba’s natural environment while keeping recreation and tourism activities safe. No final agreement was announced after the first meeting.
Both sides will review the discussion internally before continuing negotiations and considering more concrete proposals, according to the report.
