Businesses in Aruba are being invited to join a Miami trade mission scheduled for November 16 to 19.
Mission targets businesses of different sizes
The program, called “From Island Roots to Global Routes,” is open to aspiring entrepreneurs and micro, small, medium and large businesses interested in expanding beyond Aruba and the Dutch Caribbean. Chambers of commerce from Aruba, St. Maarten and other Caribbean jurisdictions are supporting the initiative.
Program includes training and business connections
Organizers said participants will receive guidance on steps for establishing a commercial presence in the United States, including business registration, tax requirements and possible business banking arrangements subject to applicable rules. The mission is also expected to include workshops on pitching products, business-to-business meetings, an expo and connections with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, banks, distributors and investors.
Aruba Chamber of Commerce president Martijn Balkestein said the mission could help local companies build export networks, while St. Maarten Chamber president Tamara Leonard highlighted opportunities for creative-economy businesses.
