Aruba’s Department of Public Health, DVG, says the 2026–2027 influenza vaccine has arrived and will be available beginning Monday, September 14.
The Aruba flu vaccine will be offered at DVG’s Infectious Diseases Section at Avicenastraat 1 in Oranjestad. DVG’s announcement, reported by EA News, sets different requirements for people in eligible risk groups and those purchasing the vaccine.
Free vaccination for eligible groups
DVG said free vaccination is available for residents aged 60 and older, people in designated medical risk groups, adults and children with severe immune disorders, qualifying pregnant women, and healthcare workers who have direct contact with patients.
People aged 60 and older should bring a valid AZV card. Eligible residents under 60 who qualify because of a medical condition should bring both their AZV card and a doctor’s prescription or referral, as applicable.
Risk-group vaccination is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The announcement did not require appointments for the listed walk-in service.
Vaccines can also be purchased
Residents who do not fall within a free-eligibility category may purchase the influenza vaccine for Afl. 20. Sales are scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the same Avicenastraat location.
A valid identification document is required, and payment must be made by local debit card. Cash and credit cards are not accepted, according to DVG’s vaccination guidance.
Additional neighborhood schedule to follow
DVG said it will announce a mobile neighborhood vaccination schedule separately. Residents who need clarification about eligibility or current service hours can contact DVG’s Infectious Diseases Section before visiting.
DVG’s standing influenza guidance recommends annual vaccination and identifies older adults, medical personnel and people with chronic conditions as groups for whom protection is especially important.
