Aruban Olympian Monica Pimentel completed her Monica Pimentel COA internship with the Aruba Olympic Committee as part of her university program.
Placement supported university studies
Pimentel undertook the internship while studying in the bachelor’s program in Organization, Governance and Management at the University of Aruba. She worked with COA’s development directorate and director Patrick Werleman.
Work included sports education events
During the placement, Pimentel helped organize capacity-building training, a sports administration course and the 2026 Anti-Doping Conference. COA said she also supported other departments. Pimentel is an Olympic athlete, athletes’ commission president and national taekwondo coach.
