Musician Robert Maduro has been named Baluarte Cultural 2026 by Fundacion Chico Harms in recognition of his long contribution to Aruba’s music and cultural traditions.
Foundation presents annual cultural honor
DIARIO reported that the foundation announced the designation during a special toast in Maduro’s honor. Chico Harms presented him with a gift as part of the recognition.
The foundation said the Baluarte Cultural title is intended to honor people who continue to preserve and promote Aruba’s culture. It cited Maduro’s decades of work supporting island traditions and encouraging their continuation among younger generations.
Separate recognition for a long cultural career
Maduro has received other public recognition for his cultural legacy, including a community tribute earlier in 2026. The new Robert Maduro designation is a separate honor presented by Fundacion Chico Harms for the 2026 cultural season.
According to the report, Maduro valued the award and viewed it as encouragement to continue promoting Aruba’s traditions. The source did not announce a larger public ceremony or additional recipients.
