ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Prime Minister Mike Eman Opens Called to Wealth Summit in Aruba, delivering the official welcome address at the opening of the 13th Annual Called to Wealth International Summit, held at The St. Regis Aruba Resort.
The international conference, organized by the Kingdom Chamber of Commerce, brought together government leaders, business executives, investors, entrepreneurs, and faith leaders from several countries to exchange ideas on leadership, innovation, and sustainable economic development.
Prime Minister Eman was welcomed by Dr. K. Angela Pipersburgh, founder and president of the Kingdom Chamber of Commerce.
Reflecting on Dr. Myles Munroe’s Legacy
During his address, Prime Minister Eman recalled the memorable visit of internationally renowned leadership speaker Dr. Myles Munroe to Aruba in 2011.
He reflected on one of Dr. Munroe’s messages about the meaning of being a “stranger” in Aruba, explaining that Munroe reminded those in attendance that if someone finds themselves in Aruba, it is because God has a purpose for them there.
Eman said the message remains just as relevant today because it encourages people to treat one another with respect, acceptance, and dignity.
He noted that Aruba has always been known for its openness and tolerance, with people from many nationalities, cultures, and religions choosing the island as their home and contributing to its development over generations.
The Prime Minister emphasized that mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and unity should continue to guide Aruba’s future.
Leadership Through Service
Eman also shared another lesson he personally received from Dr. Munroe—the challenge to “leave the world empty” by using one’s talents, knowledge, experience, and energy in service to others.
According to the Prime Minister, this philosophy is a reminder that true leadership is measured by a person’s willingness to contribute to society and help create a better future for the next generation.
Presentation of Volk van Veerkracht
During the summit, Prime Minister Eman presented Dr. Angela Pipersburgh with a copy of the book Volk van Veerkracht (“People of Resilience”).
The publication was produced to commemorate 40 years of Aruba’s Status Aparte and 50 years of the Aruba Flag and National Anthem.
Eman explained that the book reflects on Aruba’s development over recent decades and is dedicated to the memory of the island’s first Prime Minister, Henny Eman.
Welcoming International Delegates
Concluding his remarks, Prime Minister Eman welcomed delegates from around the world and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to exchange ideas with international business and spiritual leaders.
He highlighted that leadership founded on strong values, collaboration, and service is essential to building a prosperous and sustainable future.
Following the opening ceremony, Dr. K. Angela Pipersburgh thanked Prime Minister Eman for attending the summit and offered a prayer asking for God’s blessing, wisdom, and guidance for the Prime Minister, his family, and the people of Aruba.
