ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruban historian and author Adolf “Dufi” Kock has donated two of his latest publications to the National Library of Aruba, further contributing to the preservation of the island’s history and cultural heritage.

The first publication, Historical Sections of Aruba, contains 310 pages covering 136 historical topics and is dedicated to future generations. Richly illustrated with photographs, the book explores a wide range of subjects related to Aruba’s history. The foreword was written by Curaçao Governor Lucille George-Wout’s successor, Governor Mauritsz de Kort, who praised the work as a valuable contribution to preserving Aruba’s cultural heritage.

The second publication, Norwegian Seamen’s Mission, documents the important role of the Norwegian Seamen’s Mission in San Nicolas during the Lago Refinery era, when thousands of Norwegian ships visited Aruba. The publication highlights the mission’s historical significance and is dedicated to Aruba Governor Alfonso Boekhoudt.

Following a 35-year career at Lago and several years in the hospitality industry, Kock devoted his retirement to researching Aruba’s history, the Lago Refinery and both World Wars. His work aims to preserve accurate historical documentation for future generations.
