One of the main topics was strengthening cooperation between Kadaster Sint Maarten and Aruba’s Department of Land Survey and Property Registration (DLV) to improve land administration and property registration systems.

The Aruba, Sint Maarten Strengthen Digital Infrastructure Ties initiative also included discussions on digital land management platforms, including the TERENO system, allowing both countries to exchange experiences on the modernization of public services.

Technology Supporting Smarter Infrastructure

Officials also explored the use of data collected from public cameras to improve traffic management and mobility planning.

Aruba shared its experience using technology and data analysis to support evidence-based decision-making for infrastructure projects and transportation planning.

In addition, representatives discussed the implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) across government agencies and how GIS technology can enhance urban planning, land management, infrastructure development, and spatial planning.

Regional Cooperation For Future Development

Minister Herdé emphasized that regional partnerships are essential for helping Caribbean islands address shared infrastructure challenges.

He stated that exchanging knowledge and practical experience enables governments to develop more efficient solutions while continuing to modernize services for residents.

The Aruba, Sint Maarten Strengthen Digital Infrastructure Ties partnership reflects Aruba’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation, innovation, and regional cooperation as key elements in building stronger public institutions and modern infrastructure for the future.
