ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba has officially inaugurated its first FIFA Arena Mini Turf facilities in Noord and Pos Chiquito, marking a major milestone in the island’s sports infrastructure development.
The new mini turf fields, located at S.C. United in Noord and S.V. Unistars in Pos Chiquito, provide modern, safe, and accessible spaces for children, youth, and the wider community to participate in football and recreational activities.
The project was made possible through a partnership between the Government of Aruba, the Aruba Football Association (AVB), FIFA, and Lotto pa Deporte. It forms part of FIFA’s international program to expand access to football, promote inclusion, and support community-based talent development.
Minister of Sports Gerlien Croes described the inauguration as an important achievement, highlighting the positive impact that collaboration between local and international partners can have on Aruba’s communities.
She congratulated S.C. United, S.V. Unistars, and everyone involved in bringing the projects to completion.
The Ministry of Sports emphasized that this is only the beginning, with plans to expand similar FIFA Arena Mini Turf projects to additional neighborhoods across Aruba to encourage sports participation, healthy lifestyles, and community development.
The Government of Aruba reaffirmed its commitment to investing in sports infrastructure and working with stakeholders to strengthen opportunities for athletes and young people throughout the island.
