The technical department of the Aruban Olympic Committee (COA), referred to as Direccion di Deporte (DdD), recently held a meeting with the board of the Aruba Athletic Federation (AAF). The session was attended by federation representatives, including President Anecy Toussaint, Secretary Safiera Schippers, and coach Silvienne Valdez-Krosendijk. This meeting aligns with standard procedure where the DdD engages with federations to discuss ongoing developments and the current status of sporting processes.
During the session, the parties conducted a review of the results achieved by athlete Eden Antersijn during his participation in the South American Youth Games held in Panama in 2026. The conversation extended beyond the recent games to address the planning for upcoming training schedules. The discussion focused not only on Antersijn’s continued development but also on identifying and preparing other athletes who show the potential to compete at an international level for Aruba.
The COA emphasized the value of these periodic interactions, which typically take place before or after significant technical milestones. By maintaining a consistent and open dialogue, the committee aims to track the progress of athletic programs. The COA concluded the session by thanking the AAF for their readiness to meet frequently and collaborate on the continued growth and success of athletics within the Aruban community.
