President of Parliament Marlon Sneek recently led a delegation from the Parliament of Aruba on an official visit to the Netherlands. The group met with Andy Lee, the representative of Aruba in the Raad van State, to discuss constitutional functions and strengthen institutional cooperation within the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the delegation received detailed information regarding the advisory role of the Raad van State within the Dutch constitutional system. Discussions covered the council’s responsibilities concerning legislation and governance. Lee, who has served as a member of the council for Aruba since January 1, 2024, provided insights into his specific duties and the institution’s operations.
President Sneek highlighted the importance of the visit for enhancing mutual understanding. “As a Parliament, we consider it important to maintain regular contact with institutions that play an essential role in governance and legislation in the Kingdom,” Sneek stated. He added that these meetings contribute to a better understanding of advisory and decision-making processes that affect Aruba.
Lee, who previously served as President of Parliament from 2009 to 2010, shared his personal and professional experiences with the delegation.
