Early Sunday morning, police responded to a report of a traffic accident at the Calabas turn. Upon arrival at the scene, officers determined that a vehicle had gone off the road.
According to the investigation, a Toyota RAV was traveling on the right side of the curve when the driver lost control. The car collided with a utility pole, snapping it and causing the pole to fall onto the vehicle’s roof. The impact resulted in a power outage affecting part of the surrounding neighborhood.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. Police conducted a test on the driver, which revealed he was under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested. Elmar was notified to attend to the scene and restore electricity to the affected area.
