ORANJESTAD (AAN): Last Sunday, the Government of Aruba, together with DCA, the Ban Bek Caya Commission, and various organizations, held the Ban Bek Caya event once again. This year marked its 21st edition, under the name “Aruba Multicultural Encounter,” in celebration of the International Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.
Communities of different nationalities came together to celebrate their cultural richness that characterizes the island, making Plaza La Linda on Caya Grandi shine.
After the flag parade, the festival featured a gastronomic showcase and a multicultural folklore music show representing Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, the Caribbean, Venezuela, Colombia, the Wayuu community, Mexico, the Philippines, Suriname, Spain, Portugal, Peru, Brazil, Haiti, and India. Performances included groups like Caribbean Combo from the Rufo Wever Music School, Afro Tambor Venezuela, Vallenato Premium, Alma Llanera, Alma Gitana, and Gucci Dancers Aruba, among others.
It was a spectacular event, with a large audience enjoying the 21st edition this past Sunday.
