FORT LAUDERDALE (AAN) – Team Dryer is currently competing in the Dream Cup tournament at the InterMiami CF Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale. The event, held for the second time, features over 800 teams from 14 countries.
Representing Aruba, Team Dryer has entered teams in the U9, U11, U13, and U15 categories. The delegation consists of 45 players and six staff members. The squads are led by coaches Aldair Fontalvo (U11), Tristan Anastasia (U13), and Dreyer Bracho (U15). Other participating nations include the United States, Mexico, and Jamaica.
The competition began on Friday with an opening ceremony that included a parade of flags. Players from the Aruban team carried the national flag onto the field. The opening ceremony was followed by a single match between the United States and Mexico. Team Dryer’s matches are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
Svenja Croes, Tournament Director for Team Dryer, noted that the U11 and U13 players represented Aruba well during the parade. She stated that the team has arrived with enthusiasm and determination. Croes also mentioned that almost all parents traveled to the U.S. to support the young athletes.
