The HOH Staff Appreciation Week 2026 brought a full week of inspiration, gratitude, and team-building activities to employees at Horacio Oduber Hospital in Aruba.

Each year during the month of May, alongside International Nurses Day celebrations, Horacio Oduber Hospital organizes its annual HOH Staff Appreciation Week 2026 to recognize the dedication and hard work of all hospital employees.

Hospital management emphasized the importance of showing appreciation to healthcare professionals who work tirelessly to care for patients every day.

According to Jacco Vroegop, President of the Board of Directors, the HOH Staff Appreciation Week 2026 was an opportunity to once again highlight the essential role every hospital employee plays in the success and patient care provided by HOH.

He expressed pride in the hospital staff and stated that Aruba should also be proud of the people working within the healthcare institution.

This year’s theme, “Wanderlust,” focused on exploration and inspiration. The week officially began with a virtual message from the Board of Directors thanking every employee for their commitment and service to both the organization and its patients.

The HOH Staff Appreciation Week 2026 activities started with a special “grab and go” breakfast designed to energize staff members for the week ahead.

Throughout the celebration, employees participated in workshops, walks, scavenger hunts, and creative decoration competitions between hospital departments under the theme “Wander the World.”

Special attention during the HOH Staff Appreciation Week 2026 was dedicated to nurses on May 12, International Nurses Day, where healthcare professionals received appreciation gifts recognizing their daily efforts at the bedside of patients.

The celebration also incorporated sustainability initiatives through the hospital’s “One Tree Initiative,” allowing employees to make donations while planting trees as part of environmental awareness efforts.

According to Gregory Croeze, member of the HOH Board of Directors, although technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence continue evolving within healthcare, employees remain the true heart of the hospital because they provide direct care with compassion and dedication.

The HOH Staff Appreciation Week 2026 program was made possible through months of preparation by a dedicated team of colleagues working behind the scenes to organize a varied and meaningful schedule of events.

Hospital leadership extended special gratitude to the organizing committee and once again thanked all HOH employees for their continuous 24/7 commitment to patient care in Aruba.

The HOH Staff Appreciation Week 2026 served as a reminder that every employee, regardless of position, plays an important role in supporting patients and strengthening healthcare services across Aruba.
